White-breasted Nuthatch (Sitta carolinensis)

The are small but loud birds that actively forage for seeds, jumping about from limb to the side of the tree. The name "Nuthatch" comes from their behavior of jamming a large nut into tree back and then whacking the nut with their beak to release (hatch) the seed in the nut.
