Northern Mockingbird (Mimus polyglottos)   The Mockingbird's scientific name roughly translates "copy many tongues". They are abundant all year re at Galloway, and often quite noisy calling all day and sometimes into the night. Watch when thy run along the ground, stop every few feet, and spread their wings. They are aggressive in defending their nests and will attack cats and humans if threatened.
