This man, photographed in the market in the town of Ürgüp in Central Anatolia, Turkey, is wearing the Kufi, or prayer cap. Once upon a time, he might have worn a Fez, but the Turkish Hat Law of 1925 banned ther Fez and encouraged the use of western style clothing.
